Italian Therapists visit Küschall

It is finally official. Küschall is now based in Witterswil, a little village about 20 minutes from the city of Basel. Despite the surrounding countryside, green fields and rolling hills, the location is still very central and easy for anyone to reach.

Wheelchair Explorer Glenn Shaw Returns after Successful Everest Expedition
It was on Tuesday, 14th October 2003 that Glenn Shaw, his team of six professionals and his unique custom made küschall® Everest wheelchair took off from London UK to Kathmandu Nepal. Glenn wished to fulfil a dream that had been part of him for so long: to climb up at 5’200 meters to Base Camp on the north face of Mount Everest.

As known to many, Rainer Küschall has a number of hobbies. When he is not creating new wheelchair designs, he takes part in car races and is an active member of the British Sports Car Club in Switzerland. Rainer drives an Cobra and just recently made 2nd place in Hockenheim/Germany, although he was competing against able bodied participants.

Nienke Leenman is a lively and attractive young Dutch lady of 21 years of age with a passion for dancing. She and her brother Mark have both shared this enthusiasm since early childhood, when they started taking dancing lessons.

Glen Shaw is a UK citizen with an avid longing for discovery. Brittle Bones is the affliction which has confined him to a wheelchair since early childhood. His condition, however, has never stopped him from looking for new challenges. Glenn has already taken part in many adventures.
His current ambition is to climb at 5’500 meters (or higher) to the Base Camp on the North Face of Mount Everest assisted by a team of professionals and friends, and to set the world record for the highest ascent made by a wheelchair driver.
