Meeting with a Shaman
But my life consists of one more important factor. For the past 40 years I have been a tetraplegic. Consequently my life has had to be centred around rationality, always continuing to go forward, to be strong and pick my self up.
After various health setbacks I decided it was time to not just take care of my body, but to engage myself with my mind and spiritual wellbeing as well. My new search is about the meaning of life; essence and truth but also complete and utter fulfilment.
Throughout my search I experienced many different and interesting methods and ideas. I visited and met an Indian healer in the USA as well as healers from England and Russia. I started meditation and tried homeopathic as well as spiritual healing. I completed a course in Bioenergetics, but still my search went on. When I look back, it has been a great adventure and a whole new way of life.
I used my new found knowledge and took the opportunity to meet Jang Bahadur Bhandari, also known as Dschibi. He is one of the last Highland healers from Nepal, a simple farmer, who has dedicated his life to his animals and to helping people. He was only a child when his talents and strengths were observed. It was these talents that enabled him to learn and practice healing methods which are now hundreds of years old. He has continued these traditions throughout his life. It was a remarkable experience!
Coming home I felt revived, my spirits and feelings were uplifted and charged to the full. I know there is more out there for me to discover and experience and so I will continue to search.
